Installing Noise and Heat Reduction products requires only a few tools: Stanley knife or scissors, roller tool, rags and our special Prep Solution. You also need basic hand tools for the disassembly and reassembly of your vehicle, boat, etc.

Heat coming from a hot exhaust or headers is a common problem. Fortunately, Noise and Heat Reduction has a solution. Apply Sound Guard to the floor, firewall and gear shaft tunnel, as this has heat absorption properties as well as soundproofing properties and then install Heat Shield, underneath the bonnet/hood. If the engine bay is cooler you will get less heat coming through into the vehicle.

Even a small amount of Sound Guard can cause a profound noise reduction. For example, applying Sound Guard to the doors of your vehicle can reduce road noise from 3-6dB! Complete coverage of an average vehicle can reduce road noise as much as 18dB.

You can apply both Sound Guard and Heat Shield in patches (50% area coverage) to keep a specific panel from resonating or you can apply it over an entire area (such as the floor, doors, roof) to create a sound barrier and vibrational damper.
